Men's work vests: functional all-rounders for trade and industry
A waistcoat is the perfect choice when a traditional work jacket is too warm or you need to keep your arms free. It protects your torso from getting cold whilst offering you greater freedom of movement than a traditional work jacket. Whether in the trades, logistics or assembly work, work waistcoats are used as workwear in a variety of sectors and can also be worn over T-shirts or sweaters.
Our range offers you tailored solutions for a variety of uses: discover, for example, styles with practical reversible features for versatile wear, vests with water-repellent outer fabric, or practical jackets with plenty of storage space.
For everyday use, you need a work vest made from hard-wearing materials. Our range offers models with water-repellent or waterproof outer fabric. On cold days, quilted styles or softshell vests with high thermal insulation provide reliable protection against the cold.
Reliable protection is essential on construction sites or in road traffic. Our high-visibility vests feature reflective stripes and also offer practical details such as transparent ID pockets. A reversible down vest offers you particular flexibility: it can be transformed in an instant from a high-visibility vest into a plain, dark down vest.

Buying a men's work waistcoat: what should you look out for?
Before you order your new vest online, you should consider your own preferences as well as the specific requirements of your workplace. The right choice depends primarily on the weather conditions, your colour preferences or specifications, and the correct size.
Whether it’s a softshell vest, a lightweight vest or a padded vest: the season determines which vest is the right choice.
- Winter: On chilly days, a padded thermal waistcoat (e.g. with polyester padding) will keep you warm and cosy.
- Transitional season: Wind-resistant softshell fabric offers flexible protection from the elements.
- Summer: Lightweight, thin and breathable styles prevent you from overheating.
The choice of colour depends on your duties or your organisation’s guidelines for your shifts.
- Orange or yellow high-visibility vests are mandatory in sectors such as road construction to ensure optimum visibility.
- Classic blue, grey and black: these colours are often preferred in workshops, trades and industry as they are less prone to showing dirt.
For optimum comfort and maximum safety in the workplace, a work vest must fit properly: it should be close enough to the body so that you don’t get caught on anything whilst working. At the same time, it must be loose enough to allow you full freedom of movement and, if necessary, leave room for a thick jumper.
How to find your correct size:
- Grab a flexible tape measure.
- Measure your bust at the widest point, making sure to keep the tape measure loose.
- If you usually wear the waistcoat over thick clothing, it’s best to measure directly over a jumper or jacket.
Simply compare the measurements you have taken with the size guide on the individual product page to choose the right model.
In our shop you will find
- Work vests in sizes S to XL and in
- Plus sizes 2XL to 5XL.
Frequently asked questions about men's work vests (FAQ)
Do you have any questions about work vests? Here you’ll find answers to the most important questions about men’s work vests.
Simply carry out the movement test: stretch your arms right up above your head and then bend forward as far as you can. The vest must not dig in under your armpits and, ideally, should have an extended back. This ensures that your lower back remains fully protected from draughts, even when bending over, without your workwear restricting your freedom of movement.
To ensure your workwear lasts a long time, you should follow the care instructions on the label. Durable fabrics designed for professionals can usually be machine-washed at higher temperatures without any problems.
However, for models with waterproof membranes or printed reflective strips for high-visibility safety, you should avoid using fabric softener and select a gentle wash cycle to avoid damaging the coating and the protective features.
Thanks to their well-designed features, work vests are incredibly versatile. They provide reliable support in every situation and during your daily work:
- Construction & Trades: A reliable companion for construction workers, painters and electricians
- Industry & Logistics: A practical addition to production halls, workshops and warehouse areas
- Agriculture & Forestry: Durable clothing for the agricultural and forestry sectors
- Leisure & Outdoor: Thanks to its reliable weather protection, it is well suited for hiking and other outdoor activities
Conditions can often be tough in trades and industry. Dirt, oil stains and soot aren’t immediately noticeable on dark fabrics such as navy blue, black or grey. This means your workwear retains a professional and clean appearance throughout your shift, even when things get a bit grubby at work.
